Sachin Dev Duggal of Builder.ai has been named as the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year™ 2023 UK overall winner. This year, over 160 entrepreneurs from across the UK entered the programme, with 24 regional winners shortlisted to compete for the prestigious UK title.
Sachin Dev Duggal is the Co-Founder of Buider.ai, an AI software company that aims to make mobile and web app development accessible to everyone. Sachin was recognised for his pioneering work in the tech sector and was described by the independent UK judging panel as the embodiment of entrepreneurial spirit, impact and purpose. Sachin will now go on to represent the UK at EY World Entrepreneur Of The Year™.
Entrepreneur Of The Year recognises entrepreneurial achievement among individuals and companies that demonstrate vision, leadership and success, and who work to improve the quality of life in their communities, countries and around the world. 2023 marks the 25th anniversary of Entrepreneur Of The Year™ in the UK and the programme has celebrated over 2000 business leaders since it was created.
The Entrepreneur Of The Year 2023 UK final also recognised James Harrison and Trinny Woodall. James Harrison was named the 2023 UK Changemaker for his work with Cycle Pharmaceuticals, which utilises the latest pharmaceutical technologies to improve the quality of life for patients living with rare genetic diseases. The judges praised James for reimagining how pharmaceutical drugs can make patients’ lives easier. James was also applauded for a goal of offering 50% of services for free to help maximise accessibility.
Trinny Woodall was named as a Rising Star for her digital-first beauty brand, Trinny London. Defying initial scepticism from numerous investors who doubted the viability of a digital-first beauty brand, Trinny kickstarted the inclusive beauty business with an unwavering determination, which has propelled her expansion into both the American and Australian markets. Trinny was commended by the judges for her resilience and determination, as well as her dedication to eradicating inequality.
